THE ROLE OF SOCIAL MEDIA IN RECRUITMENT

The objective of this research is to explore the role of social media in recruitment, specifically its impact on candidate reach, engagement, and recruitment efficiency. A survey design is chosen for its ability to gather data from a large and varied sample. Using Taro Yamane's formula, a sample size of 320 respondents is calculated to ensure statistical reliability. The case study focuses on a dynamic startup in Enugu that heavily relies on social media for recruitment. The reliability coefficient score of 0.86 confirms the survey's reliability. Findings indicate that social media significantly expands candidate reach and engagement, streamlining the recruitment process. Recommendations include leveraging social media analytics for targeted recruitment and integrating social media strategies into overall recruitment plans.
